Or how about Howard Pardue's "Aerial Ballet" routine with either 'Fury' or his Wildcat (much more impressive to see it done in 'Fury,' if you ask me!)

That must have been a sight, doing a hammer in a P-51 at airshow altitudes. I've done a couple in a P-51 (way up high) and I've got to tell you that Ham-Standard has a wee bit more torque trying to roll you on your back than the prop on my Pitts.

For the guy asking if there was a class of aerobatic aircraft, well the Edge 540 wouldn't qualify, but darn near every one of the biplane racers is used for aerobatics the other 51 weeks of the year.

                Re: Aerobatic Racers?

For those that want to see it, Bud Granley will once again be doing aerobatics in a P-51. He will be flying Brian Reynolds' P-51 "American Beauty" (formerly Dean Cutshall's "Cutters Capers") at the Olympic Flight Museum's Gathering of Warbirds 18-20 June at Olympia, Washington.
