Last I heard the nose gear was exactly the issue that had stalled the progress on it. They couldn't figure out what to do about the nose gear.

I'm sure they could figure it out. Rod's willingness to spend the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to do so was most likely the deciding factor.
