After driving home(Mesquite, NV) 438 miles in one day I'm catching up on Dr's & Dentist appointments. I will send Desert Dawg info on photos plus my story about Jimmy DeSanto who raced a P 38 self taught & raced with only 23 minutes of flying time in it Thanks to Desert Dawg for posting my photos.

I share the pain with ya! Drove 535 miles Monday from Stead to Carlsbad CA. Long day but made tolerable reliving the week with a buddy. Wouldn't have it any other way...

In 1949 a 16 year old didn't have a lot off money to buy film and pay for processing. It's great that the photos have survived all these years. Out of curiosity, what type of camera did you use back in 1949?

I started taking photos when I was in my early teens, I had a Kodak Instamatic which used the square flash cubes.

I was in between the Aviation Classics shirt booth (I did his drawings this year) and the memorabilia booth (aircraft parts, books, etc.) between the jet and STOL pit entrances. We did good, could have done better if we had known we were going to sell out so quickly!
Next year bigger and better, we should have more aircraft and prints. The support on our on-line store has been good so far (for so soon after races) so we will see.
