The D-model tail with the 38 in the green circle was the one that was on the Griffon bird from the 1989 rebuild up through Phoenix '95. It never flew on the original PM, but it was included in the 'parts' stockpile.

I don't think the H-tail came with the sale.

Is the H-tail just the tail fin, dorsal fin and rudder? Or is it the whole rear empennage?

The mounting points on the fuselage were changed to adapt to those on the H tail. The last time the airframe flew it had the H-tail on it. So if the new owner were to use the D tail that is included in the parts shown, I believe the mount points would need to be changed back to stock.
