  • Miss America

When was the Red, white and blue paint job first put on Miss America? Years ago, I saw a picture of Miss America in her patriot paint scheme, the caption said it was taken at Edwards Air Force Base and owned by the air force, utilized as a ?? Anyone know the history of this famous and beautiful airplane. I believe the picture was from perhaps the 50's or 60's.

Miss A is one of three early Reno racers to still wear the same (more or less) paint scheme as it did in the '60s. Miss Van Nuys and Miss Merced are the other two. I'd so love to get all three together on the ramp at Reno for a photoshoot.

Shouldn't Miss Van Nuys #64 also be included? And while not raced, how about Old Yeller?
