  • Fastest around the Reno Course??

What airplane do you think could fly the course the fastest at Reno? Must stay inside the dead lines within the minimum and maximum altitudes and follow all course rules governing the unlimited racers. This question is open to any aircraft, past or present, Jet, turbine, piston, rotorcraft, etc etc. Also, what do you think it's average speed would be?

At some point the G load on the pilot will be the limiting factor as speed goes up. You can only go so fast in the same size "circle" before a human can't tolerate it, even with a G suit.

What year was it when they had an F-16 do the course on Sat. and a F-14 do it on Sunday with with very impressive speeds. The F-14 surprised at how fast it went compared to the much smaller F-16 As the F-14 went on the clock at home pylon the announcers were talking about how it probably wouldn't sweep it's wings because of how tight he course would be for a large aircraft like that going so fast--of course as they past home pylon and were banking up on their side they were also sweeping the wings back. Those pilots had g-suits I'm sure. That was fun!
