This tragic event is almost impossible to put in to words. It will be a long road of healing for everyone involved. Where ever this leads future operations, I can add, write your elected officials in support of warbird activity. We are nearing 4 generations removed from this point in history. Having the tour groups, airshows, and overall warbird operations is one of the few ways passing along this history. Rides provide a means to keep them flying, but ultimately they represent the triumphs and sacrifices of so many.

Jim, I was so relieved to see you were not crew on the flight, I have lost enough friends "doing what they do"!
Let me know whatever we can do to help the cause. It would be tragic if the absolutely priceless experience of flight in these airplanes was denied to the next generation!

Thank you Wayne, that means a lot. It's such a small community, it's tough to absorb. I think it's important to remind our elected officials how important warbirds are in general as history teaching tools. In going through pictures this past week, it was a reminder of all people that shared in the history of these airplanes. All the veterans that we were able to share in their stories, and the 1000's of people that got to experience these machines in the air. Really makes you grateful to be able to share this bit of American history.

A poll on would you fly in a B-17 again also has positive results:
