  • Some news from Downunder....

Hiya All, been a looong time since i have posted anything, but there has been a little news down here in NZ, It has been announced the Will Whiteside's former mount Race 33 Steadfast is moving, not back to the shores of the USA, but a small hop across the ditch from Australia to NZ! Yes, Steadfast is moving from Aussie to become a kiwi, and will share hangar space with race 35 in the Omaka Aviation heritage center in Blenheim.... 2 Race proven yaks on the same airfield in NZ I cannot wait to see them together again (with a 3rd Yak that has recently arrived in NZ too)

Well, they already have raced jets, and scheduled to race again next year. So not a ridiculous concept.

What is it about Yaks attracting bullets? (The demise of Mr Awesome was a bullet in the oil cooler.)

I wonder if Graeme and Jay are secretly trying to take over the Unlimited class with Yaks from down under. Perhaps shipping is cheaper in volume? (Yeah I'm joking.)

Ahhh the 2013 story of the airplane getting shot at in its hangar.
Unfortunately this is the Yak that had the incident landing at the 2018 Warbirds over Wanaka show.
