RAD2LTR was in contact with her and she won't be racing it this year, but does plan on racing it next year after it's gone through proficiently. She DOES want to display it in the pits this year "if there is room", you would think Race 64 would be a guarantee to find some room SOMEWHERE! Take Bear's corner spot? Hey, I hope there isn't room, a full Unlimited pit would be nice!

Boss, do you know if there is going to be a bronze Unlimited this year yet?

It sure will be nice to see 64 on the course again.

Wow! that second one is new to me, especially the silver upper wing areas.

At Reno 1968, Clay showed up with #64 early in the week entirely bare metal with purple markings. At some point during race week it was painted overnight and emerged the following day with the fuselage it's standard purple with white markings. The wings remained bare metal with just a purple stripe on the tip with a white race number. I can't remember if by the end of the week the whole wing was painted or not.

                    Re: Race 64

Race 64 was in Reno yesterday. I was in Cold Springs yesterday and heard a Mustang. Saw it departing north but couldn’t really see it to tell who it was. As soon as I was done, I headed down to Stead to see if there was anything to see. Les Salz was in his hanger working on his T-28 so I stopped in to say hi and asked about a the Mustang. He confirmed it was the 64 and Vicky.
You'll get your chance, smart guy!

Yes sure was! I'm friends with one of the RARA guys that's on site all of the time. He took some pics of it from afar, but I was 95% sure it was Vicky stepping out. Anyone know why yet? Stopping through on her way somewhere else? Either way it's sweet to have an Unlimited stop by Stead any time of the year! I also think Vicky would make a great Unlimited president sometime down the line if Sherm ever stepped away!
