450-ish. I think the highest qual speed was 431.

yes, in 2013 Hoot qualified September Fury at 479 mph which was the highest qual speed she's ever had, in 2006 Mike Brown won the gold race in September Fury at an average speed of 481 mph.

It's funny that you shared that video, I haven't used Vimeo in a long time and I was going to re-upload that video to YouTube in the next few weeks since that was filmed at the 2002 air races as well. I was fortunate to get to see Jim and his plane in person and watch him go for the speed record. It was such a beautiful aircraft, and Jim was such a cool guy.

I remember being out at the gate waiting to get in. The days before I had better access...

Jim and his entire team of builders were extremely special people! It would have been amazing to watch what they recreated had Jim not been lost. I can't directly remember what plane they had in mind next but, they were planning on recreating the most rare, or completely extinct types... This was a tragedy in many more ways than one! Glad you captured this moment in Jim's life Jason!

The H-1 is such a beautiful aircraft. Was very fortunate I got to see it fly.
