  • Jedi Transition, Star Wars Canyon

Going to be riding past this on friday. I know they dont publish the schedules (for good reason) but there has to be some better way to do it then just go and sit around for hours hoping someone comes by. Someone on here has to have gone before. Any tips?

You may have already found this when doing your research. I've read and heard about this before and it is on the bucket list.

Keep us posted about what you find out and good luck!

I believe it's very active during Flag operations..........you might do a search for Nellis Flags and see if anything is going. I would assume, that the day after Thanksgiving, not much flying would be going on. Just a guess.

Its been pretty active lately. There is a FB page just for pilots and photographers where flights are sometimes posted (in a downlow way) There has been some interesting stuff going though there lately.

I stumbled upon this video several months ago and have been wondering exactly where it was shot from.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9HqVXGRJL0

The terrain in the video looks very similar to images contained within the links posted in this thread.

Is it in fact, the same general location?

I am in Furnace Creek and they were up all morning.

If you hang out at Father Crowley point long enough you may get lucky.

I was down here 2 weeks ago and surprised by 2 back to back sonic booms.

We camped at Saline Valley natural hot springs a few years ago for several days and were treated to several F-18 air shows daily while relaxing in the hot springs - does no get much better than that!

went, hung out, no jets. Obvious aerial photogs were present and said nothing had come by that day up to that point. It was earlish, and I was on a tight timeline. would have been amazing I am sure, but I have seen plenty of amazing in my time, so im not mad about it.

Death valley is incredible. That canyon is incredible, and that F-35 footage (yes that is the place) is incredible.

Apparently there will be 8 C17s making a run through the canyon tomorrow between 1145 and 1245. I wish I could be down there to see that.
