Dude...this is awesome stuff. Reno Municipal! It’s pretty wild to see this stuff. I drive all around this town all day, every day, and the growth of the town is amazing compared to these. It’s got me thinking that attendance numbers might climb in the next few years. There’s a massive influx of people right now with all the new factories and warehouses moving to the area. Lots of new people looking for area experiences. Just a thought.

Anyways, any ‘64 stuff you want to post, I will stare at it, study it, and appreciate it. Can’t thank you enough. Owe you a beer.

Big_Jim, Speedy, Wayne. Owe you beers too for your contributions. I better just buy a case for passing out.

That makes me a little sad. I think about the thousands of hours the crew put in for free when I was involved, and to think that airplane is just sitting baffles me. It sat for extended periods of time in the past and came back, maybe it will again. Time will tell.

                  Sledge,

Back in 64 were all the racers at the Reno airport?

                  Was there a pit area?

How was access back then, could anybody walk in or did you have special access?

Such a cool time to own and fly a warbird.

And, a Mustang was thirty grand or so and you could get new in box Merlins for a thousand bucks. Avgas under a dollar a gallon -- you could definitely have some fun back then.

This thread, most certainly has morphed into almost a website of its own!

You guys know, we have a gallery functionality here on the board, unfortunately, between trying to live to 150, and dealing with daily reality, darned if I've dug in and figured out how to present it to you's guys and Ladies!

I'm still banking on only having to foot 1/2 the overall server bill by grabbing a partner or two, as well as trying to get some more current AIR RACE NEWS content! And generating some nice interesting adverts due to the updated contend!

Do you guys want to love Fred Telling as much as I do?

I got a chance to talk with him BRIEFLY at PRS, only took me about a minute and I was hugging him!

                      Want more?

(1964-2018) 54 yrs ago, but this is how I remember it. All the racers except Greenamyer operated out of Skyranch. At the end of the daily schedule many unlimiteds landed at RNO for maintenance..Bardahl had a hanger. Greenamyer declined to land at Skyranchs dirt runway.

Skyranch was paid access but RNO was wide open in the evenings but not many people there.

                                Sledge,

                                Thanks for the reply.

And, looking at your shot, there is so much in that. Really nice shot capturing the racers.

Spanish Spring was a open valley.

I like the 62 Ford Galaxy yellow cab with Jim Beam advertisement. Classic!

Got a picture of that cab
