Also Andy sent me the data for the augmenters.
exhaust temp at the exit dropped from 1300F to 600F, the belly temps dropped from 170F to 140F, and the pressure difference across the high and low pressure areas increased by 2 inH2O. So we are getting suction from the exhaust to help pull more air through the engine. This is great, because it is possible for air to spill out of the inlets (even to the point where air will enter the inlet, turn around and come back out). That's a ton of drag and hurts cooling.
Looks stealthy. Got any radar cross section data?

I donít have any radar data. As for what makes something stealthy thatís way above my pay grade (and Iím omay eith it staying that way )

It's August, AKA one month of going to work, then the airport, sleeping a little, and repeat.

Race 30 got some flight testing in along with an air to air photoshoot. All paint and sponsors are under the clear coat to keep things smooth.

Was hoping you would post... Looks incredible. No flap hinges!!!

Side note is that the same Blackworks prop? I thought a new one was happening?

So the weird thing with flap hinges is they were a ton of work. But aren't necessarily going to help us go faster than last year. Because we have been removing the flap hinges and bolting them back in place with some custom brackets. We did smooth the airfoil and removed the cusp on the bottom surface, but I think the main benefit is we will save 20 total man hours taking the flaps on and off at the beginning and end of race week.

That's still last year's propeller. New propeller will likely have the same geometry though so there probably won't be a visible difference.

Also managed to get my wife involved and she has revamped the team website.

    Nice interview with ars Technica.

New prop is on, and working to get some flight testing in with all the systems working at race power. 9 days till plane leaves...

Yup. Itís one of my favorite things. Two weeks before the races, my ears are always on full blast.

To any pilots coming in in the next few days, watch out for burning man traffic. Two helicopters running back and forth between The Blackrock and Reno all day long. To anybody coming in in any mode of transport this weekend, watch out for Burners on the road. Theyíre easy to spot. Theyíre 100% covered in dust. Diving some crazy jalopy motorhome with bicycles strapped to the back or roof. All 100% covered in dust. Theyíre also only a couple hours back into reality.
You'll get your chance, smart guy!
