Rare Bear still holds the record *officially* in the books

Voodoo ran an average of 531 mph, beating Rare Bear, but not the record parameters

Dago Red holds the race record at Reno

Strega holds the qualifying record at Reno

    Now THAT is COOL
    Reno from '99 to '22

This is the first time a Merlin has "unofficially" held this record.

Everything going back to, and including the ME 209, has had a considerably bigger engine (the DB 601 in the 209 was 2070 c.i.). Just goes to show the level of tuning involved in the engine and airframe

...that first pass was unlike anything I've ever seen or listened to. On the video it looked more like a landspeed record run!

Thanks to all the folks involved for bringing this to us.
