Amen! The sheer volume of water around here is amazing. Every lake around is basically full after being empty last year. Lahontan has come up 70'!

          Here's a couple "lakes".

Silver Lake in Red Rock and White Lake in Cold Springs.

Maybe if the water stays we could have some boat races or truck mud races.

Lemmon Lake, Silver Lake (Stead) and White Lake Cold Springs) are going to get nothing but worse. Large watersheds with lots of snow yet to melt and much more on the way. People tend to forget that all those valleys are closed basins for storm water it has no place else to go. A group of us engineers went out to all of them yesterday (we have projects in all the valleys) and the water, particularly in Lemmon Valley, was not moving, not flowing anywhere, meaning it is at the current lake level! the water has no place to go until it evaporates or infiltrates into the ground. The flooded houses may be that way until May.

Lemmon valley is in a bad way right now. There's a lot of homes surrounded by water. It's definitely the worst spot in town. The ground is so wet that it just isn't soaking anything else up and it has no where to go, as Leo said. Every time it rains now the creeks start flooding everywhere. Once all the snow melts it's gonna be really messy. There's A LOT! Mt. Rose ski resort has already received 53ft.!
