  • Oops, not the shot I wanted

I was more or less happy with what I shot this year, in my point and shoot world. I did however, get my share of unintended subjects, missed frames and auto-focus run-aways...
Please post! Otherwise I will feel I am all alone in my clumsiness.

Thanks, Leo, for a great post and for my afternoon laugh. I'm always so glad to see that I'm not the only one doing photos like this! This kind of work is a specialty of mine...

In the interest of actually accomplishing my goals of ACTUALLY going through my images this year, I've been using Nikon View to summarily delete anything even a bit off... I'm probably going to have to rethink this and go back to the recycle bin to find some zingers!

Those are pretty good Leo! Here is my favorite from this year. I swear there was a plane there when I took the picture. Wonder where he went.

It was a beauty. Wasn't what I was aiming at though!

When a blown shot still looks kinda cool.

I really like that last shot! It really speaks to the controlled chaos that one sees on the ramp at Reno... One of these years, I'm just going to sit in the stands and take it all in, no camera, just open eyes!

Re: Oops, not the shot I wanted

Here is another. Normally, I don't really care when an image does not work out. I know it happens and is unavoidable. But, I really wish this one worked. My one point AF system chose to focus on the mountains rather than the racers. Damn. I think it would have been a very cool shot if the a/c were in focus.
