The detail is there, and the shot is really sharp. I'd love to see what you could do with that image with some work. That D4 will hold enormous detail in the shadows -- some work with local adjustments can pull it right out and make a real difference in the final result...

Monitor is not calibrated. I've used laptop only for probably a decade now and this particular laptop is lightning fast but monitor poor! Angle of view really affects what I see, as does the difference between working at night in darker room versus daylight.

Here, to my eye, is a much overworked version. It looks washed out to me, unless I tip my monitor just so; I've never been good at selective work within an image. If I get one with really good exposure and proper light, I'm lucky because I don't need to do anything with it. LOL!

Obviously, if I get serious about this, I need to get a monitor dedicated just to photo editing.

Wayne, that is about perfect, to my eye and on my monitor. Not washed out at all. Lots of good tone in the whites, and now you can see the landscape reflected in the canopy.

            Re: Sport Class Photos Wanted

WOW guys! These are great! I'll PM each of you for permission to add them to our SportClass.com gallery.

Wayne, nice shot also. One thing on my to do list, which is getting very long, is paint my helmet. Olive drab green just doesn't show up in the photos. I'm going to do something bright. Also, it would have been great to catch up some, I just get pulled 100 different directions during race week. It is surprising how many 'administrative' things we have to address each day, just to keep things in order. Worse when we have 42 airplanes..

            Thanks again,
            Tom

That medallion start was the absolute best I saw all weekend. Although I suppose it helps if almost everyone has the same airplane.
