Any idea if 33 has a geared engine like they were playing with years ago, or direct drive?

Lavelle put up a 403.4 and then had a gear problem. Got it resolved and landed safely.

A little pink and white NXT has had a 409 in the books for several years now I believe. Can't remember if it was a qual or race lap though. Kevin was trying to best that when he introduced Stead to some peculiar new prop sounds. No matter how you cut it, 400+ in a Glassair is pretty amazing.

The current record is 409.812 set by LaVelle in 2014

In the Super Sport Class the record was 412.554 by Jon Sharp in 2009

Lavelle holds the qual record at 409.812 (2014) and fastest race speed of 403.227 (2014 Heat 3A) BUT, these are for Sport Class. Jon Sharp qualified in 2009 at 412.554 in the Super Sport and had a race speed of 407.061 the same year.
