More good stuff here, Connor. I love the Mars headon, and the A-10 static. I think the U-2 shots could use just a smidgen more shadow detail and contrast, but I'm picking nits here.

        Keppler's F-86 is gorgeous.

        Very well done photography...

Thanks, Neal! Both those are favorites of mine as well. The A-10 especially so since we had unfettered access to it!

I appreciate the comments on the U-2 shots. The weather couldn't have been much worse for the flyover so I was a little unsure on which way to process those. I'll go back and take another crack at them!

They don't need much. I use Photoshop. In Photoshop I would open them in Adobe Camera Raw and simply apply some shadow detail and a bit of clarity adjustment. ACR has a very useful local adjustment capability -- you could also brush in some contrast adjustment in the darker areas without changing the overall contrast of the image. I hope you don't mind a quick and dirty demo. The differences are subtle, but I think noticeable. Your original on the left, my changes on the right. I think I overdid the lightening a bit, and I see now that I overflowed the adjustment a bit below the cockpit, but you should be able to get the idea.

That camera will capture an enormous amount of high quality detail in the shadows, if you're willing to learn how to extract it effectively.

Thanks Taglialavore! Being able to capure maximum saturation is what drove me to learning more about photography.

And thanks Samuel! It was so cool to see the Mars in person as I never thought I would get the chance.
