    Re: AirVenture 2016

I live just an hour away so I'll be over a couple times during the week. I'm always excited for it, but man there are a lot of exciting things to see this year!

Weather pending, Tuesday should be my first day, I'll post photos ASAP.

Stop by booth 422, at the base of the tower. I'm exhibiting for the first time.

          Some highlights from Tuesday's airshow!

Darn good day all around, that was made especially great by the unexpected arrivals of the A-10's!

Great pictures but the F15 Burner Turn is an F16.

Great Photos. You can almost see the smiles under the oxygen masks. Thanks.

I flew out there in my 1947 Navion. It's the 70th anniversary of the first Navion built in in 1946. We did a group arrival and it was a blast. The weather has been great and lots of airplanes.

Spectacular work, Connor. I really wish you and some of the other younger guys here would join Nikonians and post some of this stuff in their aviation forum. Too many old guys like me over there -- they need some young blood.

That last shot is not an F-15. Truly wonderful shot, though.

Excellent! It was fun going through and seeing what you had dialed in with that D500. The color and DR is looking really good!

And Neal .. I'm on my way..

One of the Snowbirds experienced a bird strike just as they were beginning their performance this afternoon, not sure which aircraft was hit. The pilot called out the strike and the formation leveled out and the aircraft that experienced the strike dropped from the formation and landed. A quick inspection, took off and he rejoined the formation.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys, I really appreciate it!

Neal I plan on joining once the dust from this week settles!

Good catch on the F-16, obviously I know that's not an F-15. Just a typo on my part -it's what happens when I post this stuff late at night hahaha!

It was the #5 jet, I'll have to look closely at my photos; I think I got a pretty clear shot of him dropping out of formation. He actually rejoined in the #10 jet.

Here's a few more this time from Friday, better late than never right?

A U-2 did the National Anthem fly over and demonstrated its ability to fly through crappy weather!

A sweet jet formation! The Sabre with red markings is Paul Keppeler's newly completed restoration, it's a stunner!
