Great shot. Just curious, what year was this? I'm thinking early/mid '90's, because of the "old style" number seven on the trailer..

Sports Illustrated actually did a story on Tiger and Strega at this race. I think it was the last time SI covered the sport.

It was a great event. A great field of airplanes, toe to toe slugging match between the Bear and Stega, and Lyle's first Championship in thirteen-odd years. And it was the start of The Bear's second multi year domination of the Unlimited class.

It was the only race I've ever covered where I could sleep in my own bed -- I lived 20 minutes away.

And it was at the banquet after this race that I was asked if I'd be interested in becoming a member of the Rare Bear team.

I really enjoyed the Hamilton Race a lot.

And the photography was spectacular. That soft diffused coastal light was wonderful to work with.
