There is a jig that supports the wing at the keel and you life the fuselage off the wing at designated lifting points. Oh and there is no freaking way we are air lifting PM. The team could have it on a truck in about a day.

Still not clear. Do you lift the fuselage with a crane or with ground jacks?

Thanks for the input! What is the timing for the disassembly and trucking of PM? Is it going back to Kissimmee? Any chance the team would share photos of the process?

Better be careful or he might make it disappear.

Or better yet make it all fit into a hat and have it pop out in Kissimee

There is a tube through the tail cone you put a pipe through and attach a sling to each side, and sling it at the engine mount. Lift it off the wing with a big forklift or a crane.

This link should work for all, but here is an example of putting the fuselage on the wing.

Is there any concern with slinging it from the engine mount due to possible weakened structure?

Is he standing in the middle of Stead Airport slowly turning in a circle with an arm outstretched as though he's flying a U-Control model airplane around the course?

Do you think the Precious Metal crew will remove the engine, than remove the wing or will they leave the engine attached when the wing is removed and put it on a truck?

Planning for the recovery work is well under way. Equipment to use at the airfield is being arraigned and team members are sorting out who will be able to go twist wrenches. Thom will tell us details of what we will be doing when we need to know them. There is still no determination on what happened, as Thom is the only person who has seen the airframe.

Of course there will be pictures of the recovery effort!!!!!

I wonder if you could sell access to the recovery to some documentary producer in exchange for some money which could be used to help pay for the damage?
