    NEW MEMBER SNAFU

    A bunch of new air race fans have signed up recently since I reopened automated registration... unfortunately, all of them somehow wound up in an under 13 years old queue which had to be moderated....

    I apologize for the glitch and will be sending all of the new members a note with a link for them to click on and they will be fully recognized and able to post...

      Agreed! Welcome.... I just hope that we don't wind up flooded with SPAM users... hard to keep them out and not block everyone else!

      Since I've just mass approved a bunch of applications, please report any bad (SPAM) or other posts which are not appropriate here from new members...

          Regarding the new members, as I sorted through them, I did find several that had links in their profile that led you to whatever... I guess, there is just no way to really automate the process... Just got a brain fart... would any of you guys and gals want to be a part of the approval process for new members? Truly, more than half, in the past, wound up just being a farce with a link to whatever product, porn or whatever..

          I know some of you really have the smarts to do most of the stuff on the board via your phones! I'm an internet pioneer and, at the same time, a frickin dinosaur! Back when a 14.40 modem was top of the line, guys like Mark Kallio and myself had it down for the time!

          So what I'm sayin' is... any of you guys who frequent here want to be moderators? Able to delete (soft so we can review them later) posts, moderate new members..

          Really takes no more time than just coming here, you just have the option to look at a queue and approve or disapprove.. (this, only if the automated system can't make it happen!) new member applications and subsequent potential SPAM or subversive posts... NO WAY we let any new member post anything really crappy before we figure out their MO!!
