    Dago, Dago, Dago

I can still hear the chant as if it was only yesterday.

Dammy that was a beautiful airplane. Wish Danny could have gotten it done!

That was indeed a beautiful airplane. I´m so glad I´ve been in Reno 2008. As far as I know this was the last year she was flying there
Some of my pics from 2008.

Are the circumstances of the missing trim tab of the rudder known? See last pic

      Best regards, Franz

ID:	227875I don't know what lead to the departure of the trim tab on Dago, but I do know that my good friend Ted Contri was kind enough to loan Dago the rudder off of Sizzlin Liz that year

Here she is on a not-so-good day in 2006, and on her debut in 1982.
I'm currently working on a watercolor and pen&ink of her in 82.

Here is another pic of Dago with borrowed rudder. 2008 is last year I have pics of Dago at Reno.

                Re: Dago Red

My understanding is that Dago and Strega are very similar, yet it seems that Dago was the faster of the two. What made this plane faster??

I heard that Dago Red had been sold to a new owner in the Midwest.

                      Hilarious!!

In all seriousness, I did hear a rumor earlier in the month of a Mustang sale to a new owner who wanted to race it...

Probably not Dago, but we can hope right?

                        Re: Dago Red

I know we've gone round and round on the status/future of Dago Red since last seen at Reno 2008 (over 6 years ago!), but I have to believe that at least one of our our fellow AAFO'ers knows who the current owner is and has spoken to them recently about what they intend to do with Dago. That's possible, right?

But even more is possible while it lays in pieces in a hangar just as it came off the flight line at Reno.

It does not sit in the same condition it last left the flight line. It was completely stripped of all systems and paint / bondo before the current owner bought it.
