    Re: CZECH MATE 2.0

As is been said before... Think Tsunami...

However, a Twin Thunder Mustang was a valid concept at one point too...

      Re: CZECH MATE 2.0

The Czeck Mate 2.0 might be feasible, but the tip tanks would slow it down and the current version would probably be faster, without the tip tanks it might be faster but wouldn't be able to carry the required fluids. Tsunami was a scratch built attempt to expand already established concepts, and it was fast. I still don't think we ever got to see the full potential of that airplane.

If PM can toss Dreadnought around, I can only imagine what that would do to a normal Mustang. Interesting look though. Heck, go big, 3 Griffons with contra rotating props... Hahahaha

That is an interesting question - maybe use telemetry to allow the ground crew to monitor the engine health while the pilot runs the course? The ground crew could then call out adjustments to the pilot.

Would the rules permit the ground crew to manipulate (i.e. control, at least to a small degree) the engines?

Multiple engines may seem like a good thing, but additional engines also present additional opportunities for failure. Indeed, I have twice as many engine out landings in three engine airplanes (B727s) than in twin engine aircraft.

Engine out concerns can simply be solved by adding redundancy...... MORE engines! Like tandem V-1650's!

Now you need bigger tip tanks.

                        Re: CZECH MATE 2.0

Hmm.. which would be easier to obtain?

Two V-1650-23 left-hand rotation engines for the right side, (as in the F-82) and one contra-rotating unit (with two inputs) for the center prop,

                        - or -

                        Three such contra rotating units?

.. could probably get some gearboxes from V-3420s, i guess...
