      Re: Precious Metal Misfortune

the showline is the edge of runway 8/26 (i believe its now the north edge of the runway) if any part of the plane crosses the line it is an automatic DQ.

                    Re: Precious Metal Misfortune

The issue currently is that even with proof to support there was no showline cut, there is no way to present the evidence to review the calling of the cut. Unlike a pylon, which has a team checking for cuts that must agree before one is awarded, there is no such system for policing the showlines. There seems to be only one person watching for the cuts and also giving ID to the plane as they see it. No back up like the pylon system. Or any way to protest it.....

How can they say, "DQ by Contest Committee", when only one person needs to say there was a violation, with no supporting evidence. If the Contest Committee is serving as Judge and Jury seems only right they should consider all available evidence.

The unlimited field is shrinking each year, with rulings like this more could chose to stay home or go stock.

Sounds like the FAA was the showline observer.
