  • PM feathered landing

Does anyone ever remember a griffon w/counter rotating props at Reno being successfully dead stick landed before this week. Or did they always have feathering issues that forced a short landing (crash). Thanks, KC

I believe that is a PM first for the CR Griffon

I think Don Whittington landed in the dry lake bed a few years back.

He landed in the dry-lake alright!

This is a first that I know of. Big deal. Bucarelli was telling me about it last year, as some of you know, when he owned the aircraft, he didn't have that option. Pretty much the reason he got out... Said he "..didn't know what he would do if the engine let go..."

I wonder if that feathering pump is getting gold plated and placed on the trophy shelf?

From what I recall, RB and MA2 didn't have feathering capability.

The RB did not have feathering capability. Steve most likely would have made it to the runway in '79 if it would have had something.

Does anyone know if that set up has any range of adjustabilty or does it just go to full feather?
