Thom came and protested.. asked very specific questions and is more than certain when he passed Dreadnought he was still well within deadlines on the valley of speed.

I really felt for Thom... the FAA sure makes doing this in a racing format extremely difficult for unlimited racers.

Thom isn't the only one who suffered by these rules.

I congratulate all the unlimited participants who made 2014 a year to remember with great showmanship.

I had a really great year helping Wayne make what looked from the outside, a smooth transition into live broadcasting. Great job wayne!

I did my best to report out and take care of what turned out to be 3 different jobs and still have a great time.

Without the loss of Lee this would have been one of the best years for me as an individual.

      Long live Reno!!

Thanks for preserving the truth. Tiger won that race sans the rules. I don't know how he flew a faster race being so high. Amazing to witness.

so it was a west deadline cut? what do they expect a pilot to do when they are approaching slower traffic in that area? go high to pass, you break the altitude restriction, go wide to pass, you cut the deadline, can't pass inside, chop the power and get run over by the aircraft behind you?

It really feel for thom and his crew, they worked so hard to get where they were today.

Wasn't that the complaint from the original Unlimited Class at the time?

                This is aggravating.

why, with todays technology, there isnt a camera on the deadline? camera on tripod, vertical line imposed on screen with computer, instant proof either way.

A valid question. But people make this happen, in my humble opinion. It sure would have proved to be a worthy review and a secondary measure.
