8/2 Stead Airport Report

Nice day, 93 with a little breeze, sunny with some cool little clouds.

Cruised over to the airport, National guard doing some training, other than that real quiet.

The Bear cave is still locked down, lonely old blue jeep still standing guard out front. 3 weeks now have not seen the slightest bit of life?

On the air race front, support equipment such as bleachers, fencing, tents, etc. is coming out of storage and being staged by the main entrance. I would imagine things will start coming to life real soon.

Was out there last week-end (7/26). Confirm all the findings. They were having an autocross on the ramp.Wandered down to the Bear-cave and,yeah...really quiet. Spoke for a while with a really friendly chap who was working on the Migs in the other hangar. Just love hangin' out at Stead. Can't wait for Sept.
