That's kind of cool. I'm trying to think...the last time that plane raced was 1977 with Vernon Thorpe at the controls...still when "Pecos Bill" Hubbs owned it. Bill Hubbs was the mayor of Pecos, TX and a retired Naval Aviator. For the longest time he kept the plane in a eye-pleasing white paint job with pale blue stripe and red cheat lines.
