No matter what the haters say, you guys brought an excitement and determination to this years races I have not seen in years! The feeling we got when heading home in disappointment that PM had not made it, then hearing Thom call in...we broke several speed limits racing back to the field.

Next year it will be a 20-45 minute flight to Stead just like most of the other unlimited's have.

Not sure how I feel about this. Reading between the lines, this means more potential speed at the expense of range/XC ability. I think we all love the fact that PM flies from Kissimmee, races, then flies home. There would be no bigger "trophy" for PM than flying to the races, WINNING, then flying back to FL. It's like having a daily driver that goes to the track and beats purpose built race cars- it just doesn't get any better than that

As far as "being prepared", I think the team was "prepared enough" since they made all the races, never broke (during a race), and flew home

Unless he means they plan on REALLY hauling a$$ from Florida...
Of course, airframe heating could become an issue.

What Mike is talking about is we hope to have the plane ready sooner and fly out sooner to the west coast and finish final race prep there. Right WBK.

I think the best part of that panel is the subtle checkered-flag graphic that is on it.
