Friday night of PRS RARA holds a dinner for the previous year's many volunteers. They announce the names of the Volunteers of the Year. These people's pix and bio will appear in the 2014 Official Program. RARA has 5 paid staff members that work year round. The races are staffed by many, many volunteers, many of whom travel many miles to do so. My trip is 1,500 miles round trip, jes' sayin.

Yep...volunteer dinner in RARA hangar with all volunteers invited (a few hundred attend each year, from all corners of the country). Generally each volunteer organization with RARA (Op's, Ramp, etc...of which there are many) can nominate an individual. Each is presented a nice framed plaque and recognized in the official program. Actually, these folks will appear in this years program.
On a personal note, I was VOTY for the Pylon Judge group last year. if you have the 2012 program you can see how RARA recognizes these folks on pages 130-131.
