Maybe it's the Merlin in me; or the love for the underdog. Just something about whenever the BEAR get's passed that I really DIG!

Here's a couple from the archives!

So, It's been way too long...

    Time for a video update:

From the archives; More rare highlights, Now from Reno 1988.
The first time Dad went to the East straightaway, catch his remarks at the start of the Sat. Bronze Heat!

Some 'buzz' passes, from the hill.
And the second half of the video is the early week Heat 1A, with Super Corsair, Furias, and Mr. Awesome. Check out Skip's take-off, and first few racing laps in the R-3350 powered Yak!

    Enjoy fellas!

It took some convincing to get Lowell up on the rock with us but I think that he enjoyed the experience. I love the footage of Mr. Awesome, it almost didn't look like the takeoff was going to be successful.

I would just DIE to hear what Skips comments were on the take-off...
I can only imagine what is taking place in the cockpit of such a bird to begin with.

Hmm... Would be interesting to know.

Anyone have any memories on this!?

    GOOD GUESS sledge...

But no. Though very similar in paint design, they actually aren't even the same color.

The mystery Mustang, is a CA-18, Mk. 21, s/n A68-100. Registration in the photo is N51AB, which was Green w/ white trim. Later it became 'Miss Escort', and most recently 'Flying Dutchman'. (Race #6 when at Reno)

I don't know when these photos were taken. I'm guessing between '68, and '70? Maybe someone will know more than me. Dad picked up the original photos at a garage sale for $.05 a piece.

...yep...failed to notice there's just enough of the N-number showing to prove it's not N332.
...Oh well...an excuse to post a pic of N332 I guess...the stripes sure look the same in black and white
