From the Wildfire Air Racing page:

      Matt Jackson

      -A&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization
-Commercial Multi Instrument Pilot 31 type ratings 11,000
      -TTAuthorized Aircraft Instructor
      -Reno Pilot Unlimited Division

"...Matt is a long time friend of the Statler family and is happy to be helping out the Wild Fire Team as consultant, sheet metal fabricator, system specialist and Test Pilot."

The above paragraph was GREATLY truncated...included the info that could answer the question.

Wildfire wasn't on the display ramp. But some people I talked to said that Matt was in the Wildfire hangar 'giving tours' if anyone wandered down that way.

Saw the " Wildfire" on Sat. Matt Jackson was working on gear bay area. They have moved the gear forward so it will not tip over, and they have an a26 cowl for it. Looks promising.

I have been going out Saturdays since August 2010. We figured the other day that I have put in about 65 6 hour work days. There is 1.5 hours to get there and then 1.5 to go home. We have been making some adjustments to the plane so she can fly once again, hopefully later this year. The changes should make a big difference in her appearance as well as her flight characteristics. The Statlers have been age old family friends and I decided to lend a helping hand on getting the plane going once again. I treat it like therapy. Its good for the soul.

Nice to hear you are involved, Matt.

Are you able to give us a rundown on what those adjustments/changes are that you've been working on?
