    I saw a short report on the BBC Friday (If I can find an online link to it I will post it here) that had a guy saying the reason the pumping process was going to take longer was they were using a similar process to when items are recovered from salt water...He said even though it is not salt water, as a precaution they are pumping it out and as they do they then replace the water with a solution that helps protect the contents from the sudden exposure to oxygen as they are unsure as to how long they have been in the underwater environment...He also said that when originally placed in the crates that the aircraft were covered with a protectant and the hopes are that it helped to reduce the anticipated corrosion...My guess is similar to others on this forum that they will be far from pristine, but maybe if enough are recovered there will be some possibility for a positive result...I do not claim this is correct info, but it is what the man said in the report.
