Great! Two suggested leads...thanks Bill and Bob. I will follow up on both of these today, I know we will eventually find the right home.

Wayne, sounds like a good idea to me..it would be a good story for sure. I'd like to see one of our Challengers as escort but then again one of the King Airs would be more compatible.

Actually, it is kind of funny...every time I'm over at my parents house I still think back to summer days and hearing the old Aero-Dyne DC-3's chugging their cargo loads out of SeaTac and miss that sound.
      Or Sal Air, and METHOW.

I flew from Denver to Aspen in the '60's on a JATO equipped DC-3, crossing the Continental Divide at 14,000 ft or so (no pax oxy) which is pretty close to terrain. The JATO was needed to gain enough altitude to get back to the runway if they lost an engine on takeoff out of Aspen (8,000 ft elev).

Wow, you old farts sure bring back memories. In the early forties I was a passenger several times in UAL's DC-3's between Denver and Cheyenne. Cheyenne was UAL's home base way back then. When I lived in Cheyenne, I and several of my high school buddies hung out at their hangers and watched the guys working on the 3. United's stewardess training center and dorm rooms were there, and myself and several buddies would always cruise the dorms trying to pick up on the girls, never did get serious with any of them. I think we were to young (15-16). I also enjoyed several flights on Connies and DC-7's between Denver and Phoenix.

I do know a museum scored a c47 from florida mosquito control.

            It was one of these.

            Edited for bigger picture.

Wow, that's quite a fleet! Any idea the year on the photo?

Lee county mosquito control in florida should still have 5 of these.
