I'm sure everyone will recognize this fine bird:

I have always admired this bird -- one of the nicest Furies around. Sad to see it up for sale -- it's an exclamation point to the end of an era.

Wonder what they're asking for it.

"Fine bird" is certainly correct. What a beauty - one of my all-time favorite Sea Furies at Reno. I hope the lucky buyer brings Fury back to Reno!

        Can't see the link -- is it Howard's #66?

Actually it's been Race 13 in recent years, but that's the one. Advertised by Nelson Ezell's shop -- no price listed.

It'll always be #66. It would be like if Tiger decided to change the number on Strega to #4 after Dago Red was retired. It may be #4 now, but it will always be #7.

For most of it's career, Fury was #66 and N666HP ("I like sixes" was the quote I remember Howard saying). After Lefty passed and White Lightnin stopped racing, it was changed to #13 and N13HP.

                  Re: Sea Fury For Sale

The first year of Fury as race #13 Howard kept using his old race number over the radio during quals. Old habits die hard.
