Re: Random Shot Of The The Day
Oh bummer, I spent one night in the Monti Cristo range last week just hoping to rock & roll, but I felt nothing. Slept better than I do at home.
I felt the 6.5er weeks back and it was, wow mother nature is someone to take seriously.
But the sunset and sunrise were rewarding.
I took some photos there and there was a bit of big quake evidence.
NDOT extended the closure of the Coaldale to Mina 95 till the end of the month.

Happy to share, as I'm sure you are. I was fortnuate to have a unique perspective for the last 16 years, both as a judge and now in the tower. That said, so many folks on here also have unique perspectives and they really provide some very cool insights into this unique event.
And I have GOT to make it out to Tonopah...that was good stuff!
Owen,
The Mizpah hotel is worth a nights stay, the mining museum behind the hotel is awesome, and a stop at the fire dept has a nice plaque.

WOW.. totally remember the Mizpah!
The look of the old wood also brings back a lot of memories. Up here in the Northwest, wood does not have a chance to achieve that patina before it rots!

If your into to creepy movies you may get a thrill spending a night at the clown motel. :D

That might well have been a perfect shot had the focus been more spot on! I don't see any motion blur in the subject, just out of focus a bit.. overall, a pretty damn good shot I'd say!!
