  • Can ya give me a hand here?

I normally post messages in the right place but not this time. Can someone on this board point me in the right direction?

I am looking for manuals and technical info on Lycoming T53 L-1 turbine. I believe that this was the original turbine in the UH-1 Huey that put out 700+HP.

    Thanks,

    Bill Pearce

PS, no they will not be used in the Thunder Mustang!

Thanks for the links. I will see where they lead.

Although the idea of a jet powered bicycle is intriguing and well within my fathers lunacy envelope, that is not the case. A friend purchased a twin turbine streamliner. Now we need to figure out how to start it (wink).

Need a driver? I'm licensed to at least 265mph on the ground.

License? we don't need no stinking license. Just strap yourself in, slam the little peddle on the right, and "F" the rest.

Wayne, after doing a quick search on Google I think I might have your answer... it's a jet powered car The kind seen a the Bonneville salt flats no less. Guess we'll have to wait for Bill to confirm this but that's what my money is on.

Right on Stevo. It's a land speed racing "car" for Bonneville, Muroc, and El Mirage.

This is similar but not my friends http://www.teamvesco.com/car.htm. I think the late Don Vesco is the holder of the record around 460 mph.

Where to the south? Seeing how you are a Sheriff, are you aware that I am the holder of a few unofficial land speed records on both Hwy 101 and I-5?

This is totally my friend's deal. I might go along to see what happens but regardless, it will be interesting.

Will, this sounds like an application for the "Darwin Award" but then... You in Douglas county? My brother in law on my sister's side used to be a deupty out of Gardnerville. I got to do a "ride along" one fairly boring evening up at Tahoe. Only one real call.. burgler alarm at the golf course club house... I felt sorry for the cook when we did the quick drive up, Barny Fife jam it into park will still moving and then spotlighted and "Sherriff don't move" thing to him..

My B in L might have been, just a bit over zealous... do ya think??
