  • Today's Racing Summary- Wednesday 9/12

I guess wind was the word today... None of the 4 F1 and BIP heats ran this afternoon.

    T-6 1C went as planned

Jet 1C looked to be one of the closest finishes in Reno history? .002 seconds apart?! Hope someone has footage

But before the racing, some more qualifying occurred...

Sport: A few of the stragglers were able to post their times, the fastest of the day being the normally aspirated Modo Mio at a very speedy 312! The hot Super Legacy Race 181 has been chasing cylinder issues (I believe) and was able to post a speed of 247 to at least start in the Bronze. He will be running alongside Pete's Race 24, which should be a very interesting race (1C).

Jet: Jet was the other class that had some interesting qualifying occur today. 4 of the top 5 went up again to see if they could top their previous speeds. All but one of them did! Vicky bumped her speed up 6mph to 467 in Race 15, Scott Farnsworth bumped his up 3mph to 480, and most importantly, Race 8 bumped up from a relatively solid 489 to a VERY fast 497 and change, closing the gap on Pete Z's L-29 by a mere 6/10ths of a second. Pete Z also went up today and didn't top his speed. He clocked 2 laps just a few mph off of his qualifying speeds yesterday. Jet racing is gonna be awesome this year!!!

Tomorrow's lineup is a good one. Sport Heat 1C and 1A should be interesting, Jet 1A, T-6 1A, all some awesome racing lined up.

In Unlimited news, RARA added a Gold heat to tomorrow's schedule, with the top 3 qualifiers getting a bye. Will Mike show some more cards and put Goldfinger into Friday's Gold heat? Unlimited silver also runs tomorrow with a Fury, some Mustangs, and the Cobra!!!
