Here's a shot of a friend of ours in the office. Actually Gary Hubler had quite a year... Every morning he'd go out and win a Formula One Gold Heat, come back in for lunch, and then go out and go Silver Unlimited racing in Bill Rheinschild's big Sea Fury. He ran the latter as fast as Bill ever has. Gary is a man to watch -- he can fly anything (35000+ hours in everything from IF1 racers to DC3s and P-51s) and has a remarkable ability to get the best out of the equipment...

    Gary Again

Here's Gary in his other Reno 02 office -- photo by Birgitta.

By the way, Gary's speed in the IF1 Gold was very close to the fastest that Nemesis ever ran -- not bad for a Cassutt!

      Hubler again

During Saturday's heat race, Gary swoops down like a hawk on slower lapped traffic.

This shot shows well how far Mariah is from a stock Cassutt --

          Oh S##t !!

Birgitta often jokingly (well, sometimes jokingly) refers to this post-Reno time as "Neal's Oh Sh#t! period" due to my reactions as I dig through endless boxes of slides -- too many of which are always out of focus, blurred, misexposed, etc etc. Sometimes, though, I'm in the groove -- exposure right, framed right, focus spot on--- I know I've got the photo I want....

LOL... Neal, we've often joked about doing an "Oh Sh#t" gallery of those shots that were "almost" there.. I know I've got a "few" of those!

Maybe sometime this year, we'll have to get something like that going...

While I'm at it.. The "White Lightnin'" folks need as many great shots of Lefty and the airplane that we can gather to help publicize their effort to get the airplane back to flying condition..

So... as ya dig through yer old stuff.. if ya find anything you'd like to see on their website with photo credit.. lemme know..
