  • Voodoo dawn patrol tail cam time lapse

I'll have the full dawn patrol video up once I get back home, we just wanted to put up a quick video with the new filter to give a proper prop blur image.

Very cool. Question: how many frames per minute and what program did you stitch the pics together with? I want to do this for my flight up on Friday.

          Yes sir,

That prop blur make the videos more interesting.

Thanks for sharing, I think I saw myself in the back yard jumping up and down waving.

Jason, Thanks for posting this. Take it's the neutral filter. Seems to do the job !

Re: Voodoo dawn patrol tail cam time lapse

The tail cam footage from this morning that Jason posted was actual camera footage. I just processed it in imovie to play back at around 2500% speed before giving it to him to upload.

I had to make a custom neutral density (ND8) filter for the camera lense since it is so small, which solved the prop blur.

The other time lapse footage we have posted in the past from the pit area in 2013 or from the hangar is a custom time lapse camera (Brinno TLC200 pro). You tell it the capture rate and the rate to play back and hit record. When you stop, it has automatically made a movie file.
