Re: Blue Angles cancel all demonstrations for 2013 (not a April fools joke)

When do we get the retracted email that this was just an Aprils Fools Joke?

This quote was in the article:

At the time, a mayoral spokesperson said that Fleet Week’s Parade of Ships could also be be cut due to budget concerns.

If you cut the Blue Angels, cut the Parade of Ships, what's left for Fleet Week in San Francisco? The Patriots will provide a good show, along with Sean Tucker and other aerobatics, but it won't be Fleet Week without the parade of ships and the Blue Angels to get the Code Pinkers all bothered.

Time to call out the Remote Control/Burning Man people and have them build a Remote Control Aircraft Carrier, Destroyer, Battleship and put on a mini show in the Aquatic Park area.

Here is the story in todays SFGate.com regarding the cancelling of the Blue Angels. The comments should be entertaining. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/articl...ow-4420922.php

There's always the Sea Lions at Pier 39. Doesn't cost anything to keep them around and they are very entertaining the way they are always barking, playing, pushing each other around etc. Here is their webcam: http://www.pier39.com/home/the-sea-l...a-lion-webcam/

That sucks. I was checking out their schedule yesterday and many events had already been cancelled. I don't think it would work out to well to fly a show, skip two or three weeks, then fly another anyway. Still sucks though.

I was just at Pensacola on Friday. The Blues are still practicing on a reduced schedule and will continue to do so indefinitely at home base...so it's not a matter of them not flying regularly.

The Angels are standing down, the T Birds are standing down and 1/3 of our combat aircraft fleet are grounded, those that are flying have reduced flying status. Thank you to all that voted to continue "fundamentally changing America"

Nice thing is that if N Korea starts anything all we will need is freshly issued pebbles and slingshots........

              Political Rant (Be warned)

All of the A-holes in Federal office need to have their salaries, insurance and pensions removed. Then we might actually have people with the good of the country at heart running things. It has seemed for too long that they are only interested in padding their pockets and looking important.
              1. Term Limits, Maximum 2 terms including staffers.
              2. No Pensions, No insurance. And only a reasonable salary to cover living expenses.
              3. No statute of limitations on anything crooked done while in office.

The leaders are using scare tactics to make us capitulate, Why do they threaten Social Scurity with cuts, (Even though I'm not a fan) when they are knocking down 6 figures a year. If they can't balance the budget and start cutting debt their pay/benefits should be the FIRST to go!!!

              Rant off

              Have a great day!

Re: Blue Angles cancel all demonstrations for 2013 (not a April fools joke)

The six primary goals of the Federal Government in broad outline as described in the Preamble are:

                1. in Order to form a more perfect Union,
                2. establish Justice,
                3. insure domestic Tranquility,
                4. provide for the common Defense
                5. promote the general Welfare
                6. secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity

Without No. 4 (provide for the common Defense) all the others are a moot point. North Korea is clearly seeing what is happending to our military and feels that this is a good time to test us. Unfortunely the South Koreans will suffer because the rest of the world sees this administration as being weak.

                I hope I am wrong, but ................

                Deep Enough

                  I think just two terms.

                  ...first serving their constiuants,
                  ...second in prison.

Can anyone explain "sequester for dummys" to me?

All these budgets are larger than they where last year, something like 4%. But they were going to be 7% more than last year, till the "sequester" cuts.

So why is it if you have even more money that you did last year can't you do the same things you did last year?

                        One simple word.

                        "Politics"

Why do they threaten to cut all of the things that does not affect them (Congress and President)
Our illustrious CiC could cancel 25% of his golf trips and probably pay for most of the military cutbacks. But then he wouldn't be able to point the finger and blame someone else nor use it as a reason to try and raise taxes.

Maybe someone will realize the present administration really dosen't like the military or the present USA as we knew it.

Add to it the rolling closures of galleries in the Smithsonian announced today. Oh hell, who needs history? We can learn all we need to know from reality TV.
Not being political about any one party or individual. This is a disease in our government and in the minds and attitudes of our people.
I got asked by a high school aged niece recently who we fought in world war two, the Germans OR the Japanese. Sad.
All she knew about that time was the holocaust, a tiny bit about pearl harbor and a LOT about the horrors we visited on Japan by dropping the bomb. Nothing tied it all together.
