Its odd though, amazon shows that ordering today would have a delivery date do a full week ahead of when i get my first printed batch! Damn, I would hate having to buy my own book just to see it first! The proof copies came out real good, so I gues I can wait....

Putting this together did bring back memories of Reno and making me wish I was there with everyone this year. Perhaps next year.

Y’all are too awesome. I couldn’t have asked for a warmer reception! Wayne, your support over the years has been a HUGE influence and this wouldn’t exist without you!

In putting this together I realized that my doodle generating slowed down significantly when the planets aligned just right and I got my pilots license (can you believe the FAA doesn’t screen for wise-cracking, smart-asses even after 9/11!) follow by the transitions to my current “day” job. In cross checking this coincidence with my pilot’s log book, I discovered more dust and mouse turds ON the log book than recent entries IN it, confirming my suspicion of the oxymoron: working for a living sucks the life out of you.

It wasn’t until last year when I disappeared to Alaska for three weeks with the wife that the absence of the daily stress allowed me to regain my composure, restored my sense of humor, my cynical view of the world replaced with appreciation for the lunacy, and the idiots of the world… well… they are still idiots. I also discovered a talent for doodling as well as writing. Well, other people said there is talent there—I am still skeptical on both accounts. The adventure in the wild (detailed in my blog) became an inspiration to return to the lighter side of life and not let the "day job" suck too much life away.



Regardless, the pent up creativity is suddenly flooding out of every pore again. And like most things that oozes out of pores, a lot of it stinks. Though, I do hope to have new aviation related stuff as I now have returned to flying again as well—and the only thing more humorous than listing to ATC would be hanging out at the boat launch.

Thanks again for the encouragement and have fun chasing airplanes in Reno. It makes me really wish I was there with y’all!

Received my copy just a few days after placing my order with Amazon (via Wayne's link). Found it to be a fun "read" and recommend it to anyone who can see the humor (albeit, slightly warped) in aviation.

I got the book a few weeks ago and it's awesome. Definitely a "coffee table show book".
