  • A Thanksgiving Challenge

    All,
As a veteran, I’ve been struggling for a while now with a way to give back to those who choose to serve, as I did. And given my rather hectic schedule I’ve unfortunately had to rule out giving time as a volunteer to the USO or assisting at the Tahoma National Memorial Cemetery located just south of Seattle.

So, after doing some homework, I’ve settled on making a monthly donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. A highly regarded charitable organization dedicated to providing assistance to those who return from foreign soil with life-altering wounds, both physical and mental. You can read more here:

Know we all have much going on in our lives and the tug-of-war for what’s left of our “disposable income” in the current financial situation can be difficult. That said, at $19/month (one Starbucks a week), I can make a difference. If that’s too steep, especially at this time of year, consider making a one-time donation.

I’m not affiliated with WWP or anything…just decided it was time for me to help those who, with their own free will, decided to step up. Felt I owed them something more than my thoughts (getting more sentimental in my advanced age I suppose). And if it’s just not in the cards for you, next time you see a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, or Guardsman, take 10 seconds out of your day, shake their hand and simply say, “Thank you.”

    Oh, and…GO ARMY!!!! BEAT NAVY!!!!

    Happy Thanksgiving One and All,
