400lb Useful Load? I've always loved the Cadet but that alone removes me from being a potential owner.

No too bad for a weekend toy to take to airshows.

400 lb. useful load.........20 gallons of fuel = 120.4 lbs

400-120= 280lbs. for crew and baggage

        120mph @ 5gph is a long way on 20 gallons if fuel

Lets see, I'm 190 and my wife is 135 so right away we're over gross! Also, me and any one of my fat friends can't go flying! I imagine the cockpit is pretty tight too.

I need about 500lbs useful load at a minimum!

Don't get me wrong I love the Cadet. But any Cadet I may own will be R/C!

People must have been smaller in 1941....

Lemme see....Pilot and wife = 325 lbs, leaving 75 pounds for fuel (over 12 gallons), still enough to get you quite a distance on one filling.

Dress lightly, and don't eat any big meals until you get there, where-ever "there' may be.
