        Pretty Bird, nice shot!

Even after a Mayday she still looks pretty. . .

Does anyone know, was the Mayday a temperature issue?

What are the pro and cons of this contra-rotating configuration in terms of the higher race speeds?

The toggle switch that turns the spray bar on and off was failing and kept turning off. The temps were steadily rising so Thom made the right decision to pull off with a precautionary mayday. They got it fixed and should have been fine had the races continued.

            Thanks for that response.

Hopefully the care and attention to detail by these teams is considered as the powers to be "adjust" the races to keep them going.

I have every confidence there will be a 2012 season as a I read more about the teams professionalism and dedication to safety.

              Bob,

I'm thinking your date with PM was more like a one night stand. Do you feel used?

PM was my favorite plane this year in Reno, the RR-Griffon sounds so amazing!

PM may not be the fastest. But, she is by far the coolest!

I couldn't get over how great she looked this year. Thom and crew did an outstanding job bringing that plane to a condition I've never seen it in before. Well done

I probably mispoke when I told the crew I saw them 'building' it about ten years ago. There was a Martin something or other ...(race fan, GA novice at best) in one of the hangars that was going to get a Griffon. Anyone? Slightly off topic, I apologize.

That would be the Martin Baker MB5 that is being built at Stead.

I know people here have more info on it.

I heard they Thom and company borrowed the cam shaft out of the MB5 project during PRS this year. Not 100% sure it is true.
