I have seen a couple of pics showing the damage. My best guess would be a tail pipe structural failure that lead to it trying to blow torch the tail off. There appeared to be a hole burned in the bottom of the fuse a couple of feet forward of the tail pipe outlet and lots of paint missing from the aft section of the fuse. I'm glad Heather got it down.

In light of the fact that this was a case of- "all's well that ends well" -being that Heather got her jet racer back down safe & sound, and that the Air Race 21 FB page has already posted detail photos (Ref. their photographer Paul G. White's FB album)...I'll go ahead & post this dmg. ref. photo (w/detail) of Race #21 rounding Outer 7 Pylon on Heather's last lap before executing her landing.
