  • San Martin B-25 fly away?

I was passing by South County airport and noticed the B-25 wasn't sitting in it's usual spot.

Did it get moved around the 'port or taken away? I turned off the freeway at San Martin rd. so I didn't get to see the far end of the field because of the GA hangars. Is it still there?

It was there Sunday - although in a different location than in the past (further from the runway, tucked in with some other planes).

The B-25 was moved to be displayed at the annual "Air Day", May 14. The old blue tarp that covered the nose was replaced by a white one earlier this year.

The B-25 has been moved to the Wings of History Museum on the San Martin Airport. It is supposed to be on display there for at least the next six months and possibly longer. Go to the Wings of History web site and there is quite a bit of info there on the B-25.
