The Bear: not only does it fly, it qualifies

My sincerest Congratulation to Rare Bear and everyone on the crew. You DID it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These guys helped John Penney and Lyle Shelton to qualify today for September. Didn't hear the official word on the qualifing speed, (maybe someone can help me out ). If I didn't know any better, I would have to say. WAtch out Dago Red, you're in for a rough ride this year. John Penney got his race credentials once again. By saying that RB is qualified for Reno and the talk of speeds is a bit confusing. They still have to get the aircraft qualified during the unlimited qual sessions during the early part of race week.

I overheard Penney and Art Vance talking during the morning pilot briefing after Penney got RB back on the ground with a malfunctioning engine...

John Penney - "Do I get my mayday signed off?"

Art Vance - "You bet."
